Day 17September 24, 2000
Leaving Canmore, we drove along the Trans Canada Highway back up the valley again, passing Banff and stopping in Lake Louise to have a look at this most famous lake of the Canadian Rockies. Well, you know, it was nice, but we were kind of expecting more, after all we had heard about it. And it was full of tourists, too (we could hardly complain about that, being tourists ourselves, but still ...). After the short detour we continued west along the highway, over Kicking Horse Pass into Yoho National Park. We stopped to watch a train run through the Spiral Tunnels on the west side of the pass, then made another small detour to Takakkaw Falls and walked around Emerald Lake before continuing on to the town of Golden, where we stayed for the night. top | << Johnston Canyon IV | Yoho N.P. >>
