Day 2/3September 9/10, 2000 Washington, D.C. is a really nice city to go visit as a tourist. It has a lot of government buildings and parks (with quite a number of memorials and museums spread around), which make for a nice "cityscape". We went for a long walk along The Mall, all the way from The Capitol to The Lincoln Monument, with a small detour to visit the Jefferson and FDR Memorials. The weather was beautiful and warm, it was still very much summer. On the second day, we visited Arlington National Cemetery - a very impressive place with all those graves with the small white headstones. It looks all very uniform and quiet. top | << Day 1 | The Capitol >>
