September 4, 1998: Las Vegas, NV - Hurricane, UT: 249.7 miles

Zion Narrows, Zion National Park, UT

The weather continued to be rainy. I drove from Las Vegas towards the Utah border and passed Nellis Air Force Base and the Speedway on the outskirts of the city. On the way, I stopped at Valley of Fire State Park, NV. It's quite a nice place with some neat rock formations and stuff, but it was still rainy, so I drove on. My destination for the day was Zion National Park, where I arrived in the early afternoon. I visited the park (still rainy ...) and went to my hotel afterwards. There, I had a nice surprise as they had this Country & Western barbecue night with some local food and a band was playing. I rather liked it.
