26 Feb 2000: Fish Hoek - Cape Town - Melkbosstrand

We actually wanted to take the cableway to the top of Table Mountain that day, so we drove our camper into town and up to the cableway station, but no luck. Too much wind... (the cableway doesn't run when there's too much wind, which happens quite often, it seems. It's too dangerous with the wind). But the view even from the base station was spectacular enough. We drove over to adjoining Signal Hill instead, where the view was quite beautiful also.

On Signal Hill, we saw a car with German license plates. Seems this guy drove all the way through Africa. He had stickers all over his dashboard saying "drive on the left!". ;-)
